Dermoid Sinus (post surgery) Treatment

Patient Thai native dog  5 months old 

Symptoms Subcutaneous swelling at the neck with a diameter 2-3 inches and painless. Upon palpation can locate a lump of mass and tract.
The general appearance is a healthy and good appetite, a normal blood profile.

Diagnostic : Dermoid Sinus

Treatment  Surgical Removal 

Result  A few days after the removal Dermoid mass, recurrent swelling mass, upon palpation present hematomas like fluid, aspirate, and pressure bandage for 2 days, the exudate was still present and drained for the 2nd time, and the bandage.
The patient was administered with antibiotic “Marbofloxacin”.

Follow Up After the 2nd aspiration, patient still came back with swelling mass, and fever about 104.5O F , aspirate found Purulent exudate.

1st Prognosis  Poor due to  infection.

Repeat Surgery and Drainage

Infusion wound with Vetgold, The wound recover with excellent the healing process in 3 weeks and fully recover by the 4th week.
